Chocolate and potato sponge cake

Chocolate and potato in the same recipe? It's possible and it's delicious! Potatoes are probably one of the most versatile foods in the kitchen. Take note and surprise the little ones at home with this recipe for Chocolate and Potato Sponge Cake:

Preheat the oven to 180ºC and prepare our non-stick or silicone mould; for easy unmoulding.
Cook the garnish potatoes and then mash them with a fork, as if you were going to make mashed potatoes, making a homogeneous mass. Don't leave any lumps!
In a bowl we beat the butter and sugar, once homogeneous we add the eggs, one by one, together with our puree. Mix everything well.
Finally, add the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, which can be white or dark chocolate, and milk to the mixture.
Put our mixture in the mould and bake for 30 minutes at 180ºC.
Our sponge cake is ready when it comes out completely clean when pierced with a needle or knife.
Remember to let it cool on a wire rack before unmoulding. And if you fancy a sweeter touch, you can choose to add a white or dark chocolate coating to this homemade sponge cake.
