Teatro Maravillas Meléndez, the mythical cultural space in the Malasaña neighbourhood changes its name

Madrid, 26 January 2022 – The legendary cultural space in the Malasaña neighbourhood has changed its name to Teatro Maravillas Meléndez. This transformation is the result of a collaboration with the leading company in the potato sector, Patatas Meléndez.

Since the reopening of this leading theatre in the capital in 2005 under the management of Pedro Larrañaga, this is the first time that the theatre has changed its direction and adapted its name. Through this collaboration, Patatas Meléndez joins the space as a way of supporting the cultural sector, so hard hit by the health crisis. Thus, the theatre will continue to host great stories and accumulate notorious artists to its cast, now by the hand of Meléndez.

This strategic step and the commitment to the art and culture sector are part of Patatas Meléndez’s strategy to get even closer to Madrid. In this way, the company seeks to connect with society beyond its products, focusing on common interests and points in common, such as culture.

The Maravillas Meléndez Theatre will continue to develop its usual line of shows. In addition, the space will serve as a meeting point for Patatas Meléndez with its different stakeholders, taking advantage of the versatility of the venue to adapt it to each of them, in a key business and corporate location.
